AER (short for Aesthetic Radio) is Hong Kong’s newest cultural hub for food, music, and creativity. The location held its grand opening on 1 June 2025, drawing a lively crowd with tunes provided by hometown crews, Yeti Soundsystem, SLIMEFEST, and Dai Pai Don.

AER is the brainchild of five co-founders — Nikita Matveev, Vasilev Aleksandr, Sean O’Connor, Nicola Ho, and Wayne Tsui — who come from various backgrounds and areas of expertise to shape a truly unique venue featuring an elevated comfort menu, state-of-the-art sound system, and soon-to-launch soundproof recording room for creative projects.

“AER is about more than just food or music—it’s about creating a space where people can connect, collaborate, and feel inspired,” says AER co-founder Sean O’Connor.

Music is a core part of the AER experience, and no expense was spared to ensure a peak audio experience for visitors and an optimised setup for DJs. The space features a custom quadraphonic sound system designed by Johnny Hiller, powered by vintage Altec 19 speakers and JBL Studio monitors. Meanwhile, the DJ booth is fully equipped with Technics 1200 turntables, Pioneer CDJs, and a Rotary Mixer.
