a collective space

a collective space is a creative studio where woodworking meets well-being. Founded by a carpenter and a therapist, our mission is to help nurture creativity and personal growth in anybody willing to explore their creative side. Rooted in the values of inclusivity, creativity, and community, a collective space carves out a safe and supportive environment in Mui Wo to learn and play. We offer workshops, company events, school programs, and maker space memberships that inspire creativity, connection and personal growth. At a collective space, we build more than objects, we build resilience, belonging, and mindful living.

Things we've accomplished..

Other accomplishments:
- We are the only creative studio that combines a professional carpenter and a licensed therapist in HK
- We are also the only creative studio in HK that has a female, expat carpenter (it has traditionally been extremely male-dominated, and there is a huge language barrier for those who don't speak Cantonese!)
- Our organisation is 100% women, LGBTQIA+ & non-binary individuals owned and operated (again a first for Hong Kong!)

Went for my first mindful woodworking workshop and loved the experience. Such a cozy and airy space (very easy to find and close to the Mui Wo pier), wonderful hosts who are friendly and patient, and such a fun activity suitable for beginners too!! Everyone who came left with extra pieces of wood and a carving set to take home to practice. I'd love to come back for a retreat session every now and then. They do furniture restoration and custom orders too, so it's fun even just to look around!
